Every adventure has its highs and lows. There are the adventures we choose, and the adventures that choose us.
Last night, everyone added their wishes to a bucket list. Today, Eve-Marie and Catherine served it up to us, one bite at a time.
It started with a morning dancing rave a cappella before breakfast (guilty, that was mine). Then parkour! Parkour! Prakul?. Then a twerk contest that I won’t describe in detail, but let’s just say that we won’t forget anytime soon. Laughter everywhere.
After that, we needed to bring the frequency down. Many had asked for a calmer moment, so we had a date with the forest, and it wore its best gown. Moss under our fingers, leaves under our feet, and a quiet reminder that “we are nature”. A precious moment, and for many of us, a much-needed one.
Purple soup for lunch. The most surprising werewolf game. Art crafting, and a motorboat ride, the first one ever in the history of Sur la Pointe des pieds. So yes, you can officially say it: you are history.
It was on the small (Potato) island, right after the brave took a cold plunge, that the group finally agreed: this was it. A high. Like every adventure, today had its lows too, but the highs sang much louder.
Tonight, around the fire, each of us shared a word for this expedition: supported, serendipity, unexpected, refreshing, nourishing, orange, laughter, connection, humanity, gratefulness.
We closed the night with a small ritual I will keep secret, for those who will sit around this fire after us. Later, the sky kept its last promise, and the stars came out, one by one, just like the wishes on our list.
Time is a space where something happens and never happens again in quite the same way. This day won’t come back. But we were here, all of us, and we made it ours.
You are history. And so is this day.
