Tip of the Toes Foundation reaches it $ 2M objective

The 17^th edition of the Marie-Hélène Côté Shave-A-Thon, presented by the Desjardins Group, was held on May 7 in the Saint-Bruno arena in the province of Quebec. In all, over 50 inspired participants chose to shave their head in support of the young cancer patients who take part in the expeditions of the Foundation. The success of this event is due in large part to the unprecedented generosity of the people from Quebec who support the shaved in their fund-raising activities.

The donations collected and the contribution of the partners of the Foundation then enabled us to announce an amount of $144,000 and thus, exceeding the 2M$ threshold rose during the last 16 years. This being said, additional funds have been collected since then during activities organized in parallel events, thus bringing in total more than $150,000! These sums will help several young people to participate in therapeutic adventure expeditions with the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation.

With the message “Cooperating for youth”, Mr. Breton, Regional Vice-President of the Desjardins Group and honorary president of the 17^th edition, invited his colleagues and the population to register to the Marie-Hélène Côté Shave-A-Thon.

At Desjardins, the values of personal commitment, solidarity with the community and of inter-cooperation are at the heart of our actions. I was very proud to witness the spirit of generosity within our institutions and to take part in this event along with 9 other Directors of the region who have dared to take up the challenge!

The next On the Tip of the Toes Foundation expedition will take place from July 19 to 28, 2017, on the Noire River, Quebec. It will enable 14 young adults in remission of cancer to live a unique canoe-camping experience.
