Letter from a participant from 1996

A little more than 25 years ago, I had the chance to take part in the very first therapeutic adventure expedition organized by the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation. Because people like you believed in it.

This expedition has made a big difference in making me who I am. It gave me hope – the hope that makes us believe that despite cancer, there are many things that can be accomplished. There, I learned that one must never let go, that one must always move forward. Whether it is to climb a mountain or fight against cancer, anything is possible if you put some effort into it! My slogan following the expedition? “It’s not because I’ve been sick that I can’t do it!”

You changed my life.
And those of hundreds of young people with cancer.

On the Tip of the Toes Foundation made it possible for me to experience unforgettable moments. I am lucky to have been able to participate in this expedition. It was the bow that I needed on the gift that was my remission. These therapeutic adventure expeditions are a unique experience for young people with cancer and their families. They generate the hope we need.

Yes, you have changed my life. Thousands of other young people also deserve and expect support from the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation. Today, you have the power to put the youths back on track.

On their behalf – and now that I am a mother, and that I dare not imagine what my parents had to go through, I will add: on behalf of their families, I thank you for renewing your support for this so important organization.

Sincerely,
Geneviève Ouellet, 1996 Expedition Participant

Change the life of a young person affected by cancer!
