Time flies. Fast, much too fast. We’re back home already. We’ve just finished introducing ourselves that it’s time to say goodbye! As you probably guessed, today is the last day of our unbelievable rabaskas expedition on the Poisson Blanc Reservoir.

The rather early wake-up call came from the soft chords of Tears in Heaven on Marc-André’s guitar. You know, the kind of tune that stays with you all day. The one  you hear in your head as you pack your equipment in the waterproof bags for the last time, as you take down the tent, as you enjoy your croissant warmed up on the campfire while waiting for your coffee to cool down, as you take the last group photo, as you launch the rabaskas, paddle towards the base camp, as you pull the rabaskas out of the water, as you put away the paddles, as you exchange congratulations with the whole group for having risen to the challenge of the unbelievable adventure you just lived through, as you unpack your bags, return your adventurer’s gear, as you whistle in the shower, hum in front of your meatloaf and cheesecake during dinner, the sort of tune that comes back in you head as you say your first goodbyes on board the minibus, and again in Montreal with the last goodbyes as everybody says: “Well, guess this is goodbye until the next expedition…”

As for me, I got back on the bus after all this feeling I was still paddling and I sort of heard this tune in my head…
