Annik Gagné

63 - Pilot Project Connection Summer 2021 - Escoumins River, QC

Annik Gagné — I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. After the pandemic, I joined the Connexion expedition in the summer of 2022 on the Escoumins River. I met wonderful young women who reminded me of myself. Being out in the woods with no shower and no cellphone was a challenge in itself. I soaked up vitality, took one step at a time learning how to fly fish, and came out of the experience stronger. A sense of serenity settled in. I’m deeply grateful and thank life for giving me the chance to be part of it.

That’s why I chose to give back by volunteering as a nurse on expeditions for young people with cancer. I invite you to give generously to help the Tip of the Toes Foundation continue taking these young people on healing adventures in nature.
