Expeditions

Diagnosis

My cancer diagnosis was Stage 4a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. When I participated in the expedition I had been in remission for about 4 months.

Why did you choose to take part in an expedition with the foundation?

I chose to take part in the expedition because I went through a lot with my treatments and I wanted to interact with others who have been through a similar experience. I knew I would have others to connect with and talk about my experience and grow that special bond.

What were you fears or doubts before you jumped into the adventure?

The only fears I had leaving for the expedition was that I did not know anyone so I was a little shy and nervous to go somewhere on my own.

What memories and benefits did you bring back home?

The benefits I had from participating in the expedition was having a fun, relaxing adventure that not many people get a chance to do as well as meet amazing people that I was able to connect with and grow a special bond with. Some of which I still stay in contact with now 15 years later.
