I was diagnosed with ALL leukemia
Why did you choose to take part in an expedition with the foundation?
Because I wanted to connect with kids who have been through an experience similar to mine.
What were you fears or doubts before you jumped into the adventure?
Being cold – we were winter camping after all. In all seriousness though, I was worried about being too nervous on the trip and not making many friends throughout the journey.
What memories and benefits did you bring back home?
The expedition itself, showed a new side of me that I didn’t know I had. I came into the trip pretty shy and walked out of it outgoing and sociable. Being in touch with nature, as well as being surrounded by a great support group of mentors and participants really showed me that I can talk about my experiences freely.
