The Foundation has come a long way since 1996, enabling it to make its mark in oncological progress, to become one of the most recognized organizations in the outdoors field in Quebec and to become a leader in the therapeutic adventure sector. Led by a strong Board of Directors, the Foundation owes much of its success to the Directors who believe in its mission and make it shine across the country. We are fortunate to have among them Marc-André Blais. Marc-André has been involved since 2011, has been president since 2014 and sits on 4 committees within our organization. He does not hesitate to say that he is happy and feels at home in the position he occupies.
It is first in response to the invitation of our co-founder François Veillet that he joins the Foundation’s Board of Directors, sharing his expertise in financial management. He then discovered a strong interest in corporate governance and accepted, a few years later, to replace François as president. At the same time, he joined the ambassadors of our Celebrate Life event, for which he personally raised more than $ 300,000.
It’s when he met Marie-Hélène Marcoux, who took part in our expedition in 2000, that he was able to see all the benefits of the Foundation. She was able to share with the lay people how pleasant it was not to be defined by illness during the Foundation’s expedition.
More and more convinced of the benefits of the therapeutic adventure and the possibility of extending them to several spheres of the population, Marc-André pursued his mandate with an ever-increasing involvement. He feels lucky, indebted to life and that is his motivation to guide Board members and the various committees in their respective successes.
And we also feel strongly indebted and fortunate to have him among us!
