Of course, it had to happen at some point or another. Our group eventually separated, gently as kilometers were covered throughout the day. We left at dawn (at least for me), 7 am, since a long journey was ahead of us.

After a five-hour drive, we had our last lunch together in Gatineau; then, Anthony and Brandon reunited with their families. And it was Merceades, Tabitha, Colette and Naila’s turn to leave us at the Ottawa airport. Finally, we arrived in Montreal around 3:30 pm and Nicolas, Alex, and Etienne reunited with their parents, while Antoine and Esteban continued their trip to Quebec City and Saguenay with Marie-Joëlle. Later, the last participants, Dawson, Elliot, Noah and Dylan took a flight back to their respective corners of the country.

The long bus trip, again driven by André, provided time for last conversations, the final pages to write in our logbook, and for an ‘autograph on the arms’ session!

We parted, but we will remember every little episode of this unforgettable adventure and our new friends. Last night, to symbolize what unites us, we discovered another of the Tip of the Toes Foundation traditions. Catherine passed along a long piece of blue and white cord that we all shared and made into as many bracelets as there were participants in this great expedition.

So, this is the end of this adventure, but only the beginning of all the others ahead, together or on our own.
