Airports have always fascinated me; they’re emotional places. There are heartbreaking goodbyes, but also fabulous reunions. Our visit was no exception. One by one, the young people leave, hugging each other, promising to see each other again and cherishing their new friendships. You can see in their eyes that they’re happy to be reunited with friends and family. We wish them all the luck in the world!
Before I end this last post, I’d be remiss if I didn’t say a big thank you to the Écomaris School and the crew of the Roter Sand for providing us with an unforgettable experience: Captain Roger Huet, First Officer Ariane Tessier-Moreau and Officer Jean-Baptiste Favier. The Foundation looks forward to seeing you again in a few weeks’ time for our second expedition, this time with young adults.
Thank you for following us and see you on the next adventure!
