This was our last day. T’was also our last blog of this expedition. Yet another expedition is about to start. A bigger and more important expedition. The expedition of our lives. Our young friends are back home, ready to embark on this new expedition with new tools in their backpacks.

Late in the evening, I come across the logbook kept by the participants. It is a notebook they are invited to fill with stories, anecdotes, drawings, poems, in short, whatever they want. TO close this blog, I will let them speak. Here are some excepts of what they wrote. What beautiful kids they are, inside and out.

EXCEPTS:
……………………………………
To travel is to leave one’s cage
To forget one’s rage
Left behind in our trail
Like a mirage
On can see the shore
A good omen
Chasing the clouds
Before turning the page
And accessing a wiser future
………………………….……
Cross the oceans
Across the winds
Forget one’s miseries
As time goes by slowly
Leaving a trace of blood
Back there in the stream
The voyage ends
Before we all lose our minds
We go back to our places
Remembering
The important things
And we’re all better for it.
……………………………….
Nothing is forever. This is even truer in an expedition when people are living far away from each other.
As we leave, I shall remember you all. A part of you is now part of me. Staff or participants, you’re all so engaging and I will miss you all.
And so it must be! Yet,we can now recognize the value of friendship and the symbiotic relationship of the group. Thank you all for the memories!
…………………………………………………
Now we know when we’re happy: when the people around us are perfect, when all is perfect, and the moments are cool.
…………………………………………..
Send me on an adventure
We’ll have fun for sure
Send me on an adventure
Even if things are difficult
I’m getting ready for tomorrow
…………………………………………….
The recipe for happiness?  Easy. Seize the moment and the company of others.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Thank you for having followed our adventure. Thank you for your good words, and a special thanks to you, our young friends. I’ve learned a lot from you. Much more than you can imagine. I’ll be a better father because of you. Here’s a big kiss and a big hug for each of you..
PS  Sébastien! The bus is here!
