Adventure Enthusiast
Hello,
Running gives me the chance to encounter silence, to shiver in a gust of wind, and to soak up the scent of lichen and wet earth beneath my feet. I’m looking for solitude and to touch the morning dew on the stem of a fern… that’s why I run.
What I’ve learned from my recent experiences in nature during a race is that you’re never in control. During my Beluga Ultra Trail 2023 – De Sacré-Coeur à Tadoussac , I completely broke down from 22k to 30k, and went through every possible emotion, crying, laughing, scared and wanting to wait for help to get me out of this 45k hell… . It’s a natural human reaction. There’s always going to be something you can’t control. I have to adapt to new situations. Trail running helps me tame these sensations and emotions. For me, running is a way of managing my fear, a first step towards making changes in what I want to do. You can stay where you are, in familiarity, calm, routine and control, or you can try to move into an unknown zone. One is familiar and easier. The other is new and intimidating, but leads us to live out our passions, what we really want. Trail running is a great learning ground, where I’m allowed to make mistakes and accept myself as I am.
Presentation of the expedition project:
The expedition consists of a selected group of participants crossing Nunavik on skis. It will take place in winter 2025, from late February to early April. Departure is from the Schefferville region, and arrival is planned for the village of Kangiqsualujjuaq.
The route of the crossing will follow that of the George River, consisting of a chain of lakes over a distance of some 95 km, the De Pas River over 125 km and then the George River over a distance of almost 400 km. The total distance is thus estimated at around 600 km, and the expedition will take around 40 days.
We’ll be transporting our equipment by sled, and to optimize the success of the expedition, we’ll be camping in tents with wood-burning stoves, with supply depots set up along the way.
The expedition project includes a year-long preparatory training course for all participants. In addition to the skiing adventure, the aim will be to exchange with the Innu and Naskapi communities established in the Schefferville region, as well as with the Inuit in Kangiqsualujjuaq and possibly Kujjuaq.
I intend to give meaning to the miles I’ll be covering, thanks to the Sur la Pointe des Pieds Foundation. I’m moved by the cause of young cancer sufferers, and I want to give them an opportunity to experience something out of the ordinary through a therapeutic adventure expedition. Human beings should always have the chance to develop a special relationship with nature, whatever their state of health.
If you’d like to follow me on my expedition to Nunavik, follow me in my physical and mental training, follow me in my preparation for the cold, follow me in my training camps, follow me in my nutrition, …
Join my blog by making a donation to the Fondation Sur la Pointe des Pieds, and you too can create a situation that aims to rebuild self-esteem and restore hope in life through the challenge and surpassing oneself that these therapeutic expeditions enable young people to achieve.
Here are my intentions for this expedition:
The main one, to live an energizing, captivating, stimulating human experience, … To trust each other and move forward together.
During these polar expeditions, I want to experience the very essence of adventure. To feel that exploration will be at its most intense, at all times.
To meet and learn from the Innuit people, whom I don’t know and who have so much to offer.
Continue to accept over the miles that it’s possible to develop an appetite for discomfort, a kind of desire to go deep inside yourself to see what’s hidden there.
Secondary intentions:
– To be able to go beyond the first forms of pain in order to enter into a relationship with a part of myself that is still unknown.
– To catch a glimpse of the spectacular green polar aurora, swirling and vibrating in the wind.
– Take time to admire the beauty that surrounds us.
– To observe nature and become aware of it.
– …
See you on my blog.

Cross lac St-Jean on skis or snowshoes to raise funds for therapeutic adventure. A unique experience of interiorization and thrills, for a good cause.
Saguenay Fjord Ultra-Trail (55Km)
The Ultra-Trail du Fjord du Saguenay is more than just a trail race. It’s about experiencing the immensity of the cliffs of Baie Éternité. It’s crossing one of Quebec’s most beautiful villages, L’Anse-Saint-Jean. It means refuelling in the heart of the Fjord at the Quai du Petit-Saguenay. It’s contemplating one of the province’s grandest landscapes from the summit of Montagne Blanche. The Ultra-Trail of the Fjord-du-Saguenay is quite simply the best-kept secret in the world of trail running in Quebec.
Beluga Ultra-Trail
The BELUGA Ultra Trail is designed to be a family-friendly event, enabling all types of runners to push their limits while supporting an important environmental cause: the protection of the beluga whale. Classified as endangered, the St. Lawrence beluga population frequents the Saguenay for all the activities essential to its survival. From the start of the longest distance, Baie-Sainte-Marguerite, to the finish of all distances, on the beach at Tadoussac, athletes who pay attention will most likely see a beluga feeding, socializing and swimming in the majestic Fjord.
