Adventure Enthusiast

Originally from the North Coast, more specifically from Baie-Comeau, near the Canadian Shield and the St-Lawrence River, I had the chance to admire the vastness and the beauty of nature as a child. During my university studies in kinesiology, I discovered what the “outdoors” were all about thanks to a passionate teacher who brought us to discover the things we don’t usually see in nature. After my bachelor degree, I went back to school and studied aircraft piloting at the Cégep de Chicoutimi. Along with true survival passionates, the outdoors took a new signification: living with nature. After that, camping and the outdoors became an important part of my life, leading me to New Zealand where I toured on the Northern Island in a small camper with my wife and our four kids.

Even after practicing many high level competitive sports (martial arts, wheelchair basket ball, badminton, adventure raid, …), the taste for surpassing myself and adventure really appeared to me when I first participated in the Double Défi des deux Mario. This famous crossing has been a game changer; I got On the Tip of the Toes tatooed on the hearth. When you get the chcance to meet with these extraordinary youth who took part in an expedition with the foundation, it really confirms that therapeutic adventure has undescribable effects on each and everyone of these exceptional human beings. Since then, every year, I go back on the ice of the Lac-St-Jean with the DD2M team as a volunteer to get the magnificent feeling of supporting the youth with their smile as big as the sky.

This summer, I’m moving towards a new challenge: a 30-day sea-kayaking expedition solo to support the activities of the foundation.
