Eleni Tsoukalas
66 - Grand Expedition Summer 2022 - Mistassini River, QC
Hi! My name is Eleni, I’m 19 years old, from Edmonton, and I’m currently studying Environmental Science (a path I found after my life took an unexpected turn). In 2021, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. That experience changed everything, including my outlook on life and my expected career path. Now in remission, I carry the lessons this part of my life taught me every day.
One of the most meaningful parts of my healing journey was going on a expedition with the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation. Being out in nature, surrounded by others who truly understood what it’s like to face cancer at a young age, gave me a sense of freedom, connection, and hope that I didn’t realize I needed. It reminded me how much I love the outdoors and most importantly, helped me feel like myself again. The adventure I had with On the Tip of the Toes was one of the most fun, memorable, and joy-filled moments I’ve ever had, inspiring me to pressure a career protecting the outdoors.
This foundation helped turn my cancer story into something more than just a challenging part in my life, it became a story of growth, resilience, and hope. I would be grateful if you would support the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation by making a donation. Your support helps young people find healing, community, and adventure. Thank you!
