75 - Grand Expedition Summer 2024 - Réserve faunique La Vérendrye, QC

My name is Alice Picard, and I had the incredible opportunity to take part in the Grand Canoe-Camping Expedition in at the Réserve faunique La Vérendrye in summer 2024. It was an unforgettable experience — a special moment where we were able to reconnect with nature and form deep bonds with fellow participants. Even though our life stories were vastly different, we shared a common experience and a profound sense of humanity.

In my case, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 25. It was a shock, followed by an unavoidable break: chemotherapy. After the treatments, I tried to jump back into the fast pace of life, but something had changed. For a long time, my only focus had been to regain my health, and everything else had taken a back seat. I was starting over — with zero energy.

It took me a few years to find stability again in my day-to-day life. Little by little, things began to move forward with their usual rhythm. And then one day, I heard about the therapeutic expeditions offered by the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation, designed for people who’ve been through the cancer experience. Everything clicked: I needed to give myself the chance to take a real break and rediscover meaning. And doing it in nature made it all the more powerful.

So today, I invite you to support this mission that has had such a significant impact on my life by making a donation to the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
