I’m originally from Montreal, but my family on my mother’s side is from Newfoundland. Thus, from early childhood, I had the privilege of being in contact with nature and the great outdoors. My grandfather is one of the founding members of the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland, a 300km + trail. I remember hiking some of segments of the East Coast Trail with him and my grandmother during the summer. My grandparents would teach me how to identify wildflowers and seabirds as we hiked along the coast.
At the age of 17, I decided to organize my first expedition. I completed the Sentiers des caps with a group of friends’ from high school. This expedition sparked my passion for expeditions. After that, I completed the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland and the Long Trail, a 500km trail in Vermont. Then, I decided to hike the entire Appalachian trail in the United States, a 3 500km + trail. After completing this trail, I decided to complete a bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Leadership in Chicoutimi, which I have now completed after three years of studies.
My new goal is to complete the entire Pacific Crest Trail, from the Mexican border to Canada, which represents 4 265km. Eventually, I wish to hike the Continental Divide Trail as well, which is another 4 873 km, in order to complete the mythical Triple Crown.
I live with two chronic physical conditions, hypothyroidism and asthma, which makes it harder for me to accomplish expeditions and other athletic challenges. I’m grateful that I have been able to accomplish such expeditions despite my medical conditions. I want to raise funds for the On the Tip of the Toes foundation to give the opportunity to youth affected by cancer to live such incredible expeditions as well.”
